Homogenizer

Homogenizers are laboratory instruments used to break down, mix and evenly disperse samples into a uniform solution or suspension.Designed for tissue, cell, plant, liquid and emulsion preparation, homogenizers support consistent sample processing in research and testing workflows.Australian laboratories, universities and research facilities use homogenizers for reliable sample preparation, extraction and routine scientific analysis.

Homogenizers are high-speed laboratory mixing instruments used to break down, disperse and blend compatible liquid, solid-liquid and emulsion samples. This range includes handheld models operating from 8,000 to 32,000 rpm and high-speed stand-mounted models operating from 10,000 to 30,000 rpm.

The handheld options are available with 5 mm, 7 mm and 10 mm shafts for stated sample capacities ranging from 0.1 mL to 250 mL. A package with three interchangeable shafts is also available. The larger stand-mounted models support emulsification or solid-liquid mixing for stated volumes from 10 mL to 5,000 mL.

The correct shaft should be selected according to sample volume, vessel opening, material type and required mixing result. Samples should remain within the stated capacity range, and the shaft must be immersed correctly before operation to reduce splashing and air intake.

IEC 61010-2-051 covers electrically operated laboratory equipment used for mechanical mixing and stirring, including equipment where mechanical energy changes the size, shape or homogeneity of materials. IEC 61010-1 provides general laboratory electrical safety requirements, while ASTM E3264 provides guidance for assessing sample homogeneity. These standards should only be presented as confirmed product compliance where supported by manufacturer documentation.

For LabChoice Australia customers, the Homogenizer range provides practical options for research, quality control, education, pharmaceutical development and routine sample preparation requiring small-volume dispersion, emulsification or larger-capacity solid-liquid mixing.
