Dry Block Heater

Dry Block Heaters are laboratory heating instruments used to provide controlled, uniform dry heating for tubes, vials and compatible sample blocks.Available in single, dual and four-block formats, they support temperature-controlled sample preparation, incubation and routine laboratory heating workflows.Australian laboratories, schools, universities and research facilities use dry block heaters for reliable, clean and efficient sample temperature control.

Dry Block Heaters provide controlled dry heating for compatible laboratory tubes, vials, plates and sample vessels. The range includes single-block, dual-block and four-block digital models, each listed with a maximum operating temperature of 200°C. The single-block version is also specified with an LED display.

Heat is transferred from the electrical heating system through a removable or fixed block to the sample vessel. The selected heating block must match the tube diameter, vessel shape and sample format to provide stable positioning and effective heat contact. Laboratories should confirm whether the required block is supplied or purchased separately.

Single-block models suit smaller workloads, while dual-block and four-block heaters provide greater capacity or allow compatible block formats to be used across larger sample batches. Actual heating time, temperature uniformity and sample capacity will depend on the selected model, block type, vessel material and operating conditions.

Electrical laboratory heating equipment should be operated on a stable bench with suitable ventilation and clearance around the unit. IEC 61010-1 provides general safety requirements for electrical laboratory equipment, while IEC 61010-2-010 covers equipment used for heating materials. Temperature performance may be checked using a calibrated reference sensor, with ASTM E220 providing a recognised method for thermocouple calibration. ISO/IEC 17025 is relevant where testing or calibration is completed by an accredited laboratory. These standards should not be presented as confirmed product compliance unless supported by manufacturer documentation.

For LabChoice Australia customers, the Dry Block Heater range provides practical single-block, dual-block and four-block options for universities, research facilities, quality control laboratories and routine sample preparation workflows requiring controlled heating up to 200°C.
