Description

The Digital Dry Block Heater, also known as a four block laboratory dry block heater, is designed for controlled heating of compatible tubes, vials, sample containers and selected plate formats in routine and higher-throughput laboratory workflows. The four block capacity makes this unit suitable where multiple tube sizes are commonly used at the same workstation, or where a larger number of the same tube type needs heating at the same time.

The heater can accommodate 4 standard block inserts or 2 compatible 96-well block inserts. With suitable block inserts, it can hold up to 80 × 1.5 mL microcentrifuge tubes, supporting larger batch heating and sample preparation workflows. The system can also support combinations of compatible 96-well plate blocks and tube blocks in the same machine. This gives laboratories flexibility when working with mixed vessel formats during routine heating, incubation-style steps or sample preparation tasks.

The temperature range extends from ambient +5°C to 200°C, with 0.1°C digital operation and display indication. This supports precise temperature setting and clear monitoring during general laboratory heating applications. The unit features four individual heaters, providing dedicated heating for each block position. This supports even heating performance and excellent temperature uniformity across compatible block configurations. With a suitable custom-made block containing larger wells, the heater can also be configured for selected small oil bath applications up to 200°C. Users should confirm block design, oil compatibility, temperature suitability and safety requirements before using this type of setup. A nitrogen evaporation system is available for compatible sample concentration workflows. With suitable evaporation manifolds, nitrogen evaporation can be applied to compatible tube or 96-well plate formats where controlled heating and gas-assisted evaporation are required.

LabChoice Australia supplies Digital Dry Block Heaters for school laboratories, university teaching spaces, research laboratories, clinical teaching environments and routine sample preparation workspaces. They are suitable for supervised dry heating, high-capacity sample preparation, temperature holding and compatible nitrogen evaporation workflows using appropriate blocks, vessels and accessories.
