Description
The Low-Speed Clinical Centrifuge, also known as a benchtop clinical laboratory centrifuge, is designed for routine sample preparation in clinical diagnostic, pathology, hospital, biomedical research and medical teaching laboratories. It is supplied with one selectable rotor from DS6-15, DS4-50, DA24-15P, DA8-15P or DA12-10P, allowing laboratories to choose the tube configuration that best matches their workflow.
The centrifuge operates from 500 to 4,000 rpm in 100 rpm increments and delivers a maximum relative centrifugal force of 2,500 × g. Speed accuracy is specified at ±100 rpm. The LCD display allows users to select and monitor operating parameters in either rpm or RCF, supporting laboratory methods written using rotational speed or relative centrifugal force.
Available rotor configurations include swing-out options for 6 × 15 mL tubes and 4 × 50 mL tubes, plus angle rotor options for 24 × 15 mL tubes, 8 × 15 mL tubes or 12 × 10 mL tubes. This rotor flexibility allows the centrifuge to support different blood collection tubes, centrifuge tubes and routine clinical sample containers. The correct rotor, tube size and balanced loading arrangement should be selected according to the validated laboratory method.
Three routine programs are provided for common specimen workflows. The blood program operates at 3,200 rpm for 10 minutes, the urine program at 1,800 rpm for 5 minutes and the faecal program at 1,300 rpm for 10 minutes. These programs provide convenient starting points for routine processing, but laboratories should confirm each setting against tube manufacturer guidance, sample type and internal procedure.
Run time can be set from 1 to 99 minutes, with HOLD mode available for continuous operation. Three acceleration levels and four deceleration levels allow the starting and stopping response to be adjusted according to sample requirements. Gentler braking can help reduce disturbance of separated serum, plasma, sediment or other sample layers after centrifugation.
The maintenance-free brushless DC motor supports repeated routine operation while maintaining a specified noise level of ≤62 dB(A). Automatic internal diagnosis and self-detection functions help monitor instrument operation during use. The compact benchtop design supports convenient placement in clinical, teaching and general laboratory environments.
The centrifuge operates from a single-phase 100 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz power supply. It measures 364 × 440 × 268 mm and weighs 14.5 kg, providing a stable platform for routine low-speed centrifugation using the selected compatible rotor.
LabChoice Australia supplies this Low-Speed Clinical Centrifuge for clinical diagnostic laboratories, pathology laboratories, hospital laboratories, blood collection centres, urinalysis laboratories, medical schools, university teaching laboratories and biomedical research facilities. It is suitable for routine processing of compatible blood, urine, faecal and general laboratory samples using the selected DS6-15, DS4-50, DA24-15P, DA8-15P or DA12-10P rotor and validated centrifugation procedures.
