Description
The Clinical Centrifuge, also known as a benchtop laboratory centrifuge, is designed for routine low-speed separation of compatible clinical and laboratory samples. It is supplied with the DA12-10P rotor, DA10P15 adapters and DA10P15 plugs, supporting practical use with compatible small-volume tubes and selected 15 mL tube workflows where the correct adapter and plug configuration is used.
The centrifuge operates from 300 to 4,500 rpm in 100 rpm increments and delivers a maximum relative centrifugal force of 2,490 × g. Speed accuracy is specified at ±20 rpm, supporting consistent operation during routine clinical, biochemical and research centrifugation procedures. Users can select operating parameters in either rpm or RCF according to the laboratory method.
The DA12-10P rotor accommodates 12 compatible tubes across 1.5 to 5 mL, 7 mL and 10 mL formats. The included DA10P15 adapters and plugs support compatible 15 mL tube use, helping laboratories handle a wider range of routine sample containers from the same centrifuge setup. Tube fit, tube rating and balanced loading should always be confirmed before operation.
Run time can be programmed from 30 seconds to 99 minutes, with HOLD mode available for continuous operation. The press-and-hold pulse key activates the short-time run function, which is useful for quick spins, brief sedimentation, sample collection at the bottom of tubes and routine preparation before downstream testing.
The LCD display and intuitive menu provide clear access to time, speed and RCF settings. The electric lid lock prevents access to the rotor during operation and releases automatically after the centrifugation cycle has finished, supporting convenient and safer routine use.
The high-strength plastic rotor is designed to provide balanced, stable operation during centrifugation. The centrifuge also uses a dual-protection housing for safer running. Gentle braking at low speeds supports efficient separation while helping reduce disturbance of separated liquid layers or sediment after the run.
The maintenance-free brushless DC motor supports dependable routine operation without motor-brush replacement. Acceleration is specified at approximately 20 seconds, with braking in approximately 13 seconds for the supplied A12-10P rotor configuration. The two-step braking adjustment noted by the manufacturer applies only to the A6-50P rotor and should not be treated as part of the supplied DA12-10P package.
Safety features include door interlock, overspeed detection and automatic internal diagnosis. The manufacturer also states that the centrifuge is CE marked, cTÜVus certified and has passed an explosion-proof test. A sound-alert function indicates completion of the operating cycle.
LabChoice Australia supplies this Clinical Centrifuge for clinical diagnostic laboratories, pathology laboratories, hospital laboratories, biochemical laboratories, medical teaching laboratories, university laboratories, biomedical research facilities and general laboratory environments. It is suitable for routine low-speed separation, pre-analytical sample preparation and small-batch processing of compatible 1.5 to 5 mL, 7 mL, 10 mL and adapted 15 mL tubes using validated centrifugation procedures. The unit operates from a single-phase 100 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz power supply, has a rated power of 70 W, measures 354 × 304 × 215 mm and weighs 6 kg.
