Description
The High-Speed Capillary Tube Centrifuge, also known as a microhaematocrit centrifuge, is designed for rapid centrifugal separation of samples contained in compatible capillary tubes. The supplied rotor accommodates up to 24 capillary tubes, supporting simultaneous processing of multiple samples in clinical, haematology, pathology, veterinary and medical research laboratories.
The centrifuge provides an adjustable speed range from 500 to 12,000 rpm in 100 rpm increments and develops a maximum relative centrifugal force of 13,680 × g. Speed accuracy of ±100 rpm supports controlled operation across routine high-speed centrifugation procedures. The required speed or RCF should be selected according to the capillary tube specification, sample type and validated laboratory method.
Its 24-place capillary tube rotor is suitable for laboratory workflows involving the centrifugal separation of small-volume samples. Typical applications include microhaematocrit and packed cell volume procedures, capillary blood sample processing and related clinical or research methods where high-speed centrifugation of capillary tubes is specified.
An LCD provides clear visibility of the operating settings, while the speed-to-RCF switching function allows users to monitor the selected centrifugal parameter. The run time can be programmed from 10 seconds to 99 minutes, and continuous operation is available for methods requiring an unrestricted run period. A short-time run function supports brief centrifugation steps, while the sound-alert function signals the completion of an operating cycle.
Acceleration to the selected speed and braking take approximately 40 seconds each. The integrated door interlock helps prevent access to the rotor during operation, supporting safer centrifuge use. A brushless DC motor provides dependable performance without routine brush replacement and is suitable for repeated laboratory centrifugation cycles.
LabChoice Australia supplies this High-Speed Capillary Tube Centrifuge for haematology, clinical diagnostic, pathology, hospital, veterinary, biomedical research, university and medical teaching laboratories.
