Description
The Low-Speed Mini Centrifuge, also known as a compact benchtop microcentrifuge, is designed for quick spin-down and routine small-volume sample preparation in molecular biology, PCR, qPCR, genomics, biotechnology, biochemistry, clinical research and teaching laboratories. Its compact design and blue lid provide a practical benchtop solution for laboratories requiring fast, simple centrifugation of microtubes and PCR tubes.
The centrifuge reaches a maximum speed of 7,000 rpm and produces a maximum relative centrifugal force of 2,680 × g. It supports continuous operation and is suitable for rapid spin-down procedures where droplets, reaction mixtures or small-volume samples need to be collected at the bottom of compatible tubes.
The package includes the DA8-2 rotor for 8 × 0.2, 0.5, 1.5 or 2 mL microcentrifuge tubes. It also includes the DA4-PCR8 rotor, which supports either 32 × 0.2 mL PCR tubes or 4 × PCR 8-tube strips. DSA02P2 and DSA05P2 adapters are also included in the box, supporting practical tube compatibility for routine laboratory workflows.
The tool-free quick-change rotor system allows users to switch between the microtube rotor and PCR rotor without additional tools. The robust rotor with clamp-locking design supports secure rotor positioning and straightforward operation during routine sample loading and rotor replacement.
Dual start and stop functionality makes the centrifuge easy to operate. Closing the lid can start a spin cycle, while the unit accelerates and brakes within seconds to support fast, convenient quick-spin use. The DC motor provides smooth and quiet operation with a specified noise level of no more than 45 dB.
Typical applications include PCR tube spin-down, collecting liquid from tube walls and caps, briefly sedimenting small-volume samples, preparing reaction mixtures before amplification, and routine pre-analytical sample preparation. The correct rotor, adapter and tube configuration should always be selected according to the tube type, sample volume and validated laboratory procedure.
The centrifuge operates from a 100 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz electrical supply with a rated power of 20 W. Its compact 160 × 170 × 122 mm dimensions and 0.5 kg weight make it suitable for crowded benches, teaching laboratories, PCR workstations and sample-preparation areas.
LabChoice Australia supplies this Low-Speed Mini Centrifuge for molecular biology laboratories, PCR and qPCR laboratories, genomics laboratories, biotechnology laboratories, biochemistry laboratories, clinical research laboratories, pharmaceutical research facilities, university teaching laboratories and general life-science laboratories. It is suitable for quick-spin and routine small-volume centrifugation using the included DA8-2 rotor, DA4-PCR8 rotor, DSA02P2 adapters and DSA05P2 adapters.
