Description
The Enclosed Low Power Light Sources, also known as protected MES lamp circuit components, are designed for teaching simple electricity concepts in school science and physics classrooms. These small light sources use a 2.5 V MES lamp screwed into a socket. The lamp provides a clear visual indication of circuit operation when used with a suitable low-voltage power source. Each light source is housed in a simple transparent plastic vial, providing a protective enclosure while allowing students to observe the lamp during operation.
Two connection versions are available. LC-80-HL2012-001 uses 4 mm sockets for connection with compatible classroom leads. LC-80-HL2012-101 uses 4 mm spin-free IEC terminals for cable connection. These light sources are suitable for practical demonstrations involving open and closed circuits, lamp operation, current flow, simple series circuits, simple parallel circuits, switches, cells and basic electrical connections. Users should confirm the power supply voltage before use. The lamp is listed as 2.5 V, so it should only be used with a suitable low-voltage supply and approved classroom wiring method.
This item is supplied as the selected enclosed light source only. Battery cells, power supply, switches, leads, circuit boards and any additional accessories are not included unless specified separately.
LabChoice Australia supplies Enclosed Low Power Light Sources for school science laboratories, physics classrooms, STEM teaching spaces and general education laboratories requiring practical components for basic electricity experiments.
