Description
The Very High-Power QI Light Source, also known as a high-intensity quartz halogen laboratory light source, is designed for supervised laboratory and educational settings where a strong, controlled light output is required. This light source is mounted inside a metal housing and fitted with a 12 V × 100 W quartz halogen lamp. The high-power lamp provides strong illumination for compatible classroom physics, optics and demonstration work.
The housing includes viewing holes on two sides, with shutters provided to allow users to select the desired viewing hole. This supports controlled light direction during suitable experiments and demonstrations. The ventilated housing is designed to allow airflow through the unit while reducing unwanted light escape. This is important because the 12 V × 100 W quartz halogen lamp generates considerable heat during operation. A strong support rod is provided, allowing the light source to be mounted on a retort stand using a compatible boss head. Users should confirm stand stability, clamp security and safe positioning before operation.
The unit includes a 1 m long cable terminated with moulded stackable banana plugs, supporting connection to a compatible low-voltage power supply. This light source is suitable for supervised optics demonstrations, illumination experiments, light path activities, shadow work, projection-style demonstrations and general physics teaching applications where a very bright light source is required. Users should confirm that the power supply is suitable for a 12 V × 100 W lamp before use. The lamp, housing and nearby parts may become hot, so the apparatus should be operated only under appropriate supervision and allowed to cool before handling or adjustment.
This item is supplied as the very high power QI light source only. Power supply, retort stand, boss head, optical components, screens, lenses and any additional accessories are not included unless specified separately.
