Description
The Diffraction Kit with Slits and Colour Filters, also known as an optics diffraction demonstration kit, is designed for teaching the principles of light diffraction in supervised physics and general science practicals. This IEC diffraction kit is self-contained and housed in a small plastic box, making it suitable for classroom use, storage and repeated educational demonstrations. A mono filament lamp provides a line source of light, which is viewed through the supplied single and double slit sets to demonstrate diffraction and interference-style light patterns.
The slit sets are produced photographically as listed, allowing students to compare patterns produced by different slit arrangements during controlled optics experiments. An adjustable slit is included, helping users vary the light opening and observe how the diffraction pattern changes under different slit conditions. A set of colour filters is supplied so users can observe different diffraction patterns with different colours of light, supporting discussion of wavelength and pattern spacing. A simple scale is mounted behind the light source to help measure the distances between the dark and light bands, supporting quantitative observation during classroom activities.
Users should confirm included slit types, colour filter set, lamp power requirement, battery or power source requirement, scale range and classroom method before ordering or use.
