Description
The Borosilicate Glass Crystallizing Dishes with Spout, also known as laboratory crystallization dishes, are designed for recrystallization, crystal formation, solution evaporation and general laboratory sample handling. A crystallizing dish is similar to a wide, low-form beaker with a large diameter and short height. The broad surface area supports faster evaporation of solution, which is useful when recrystallizing compounds or observing crystal growth. These dishes are made from boro glass or borosilicate glass, depending on the selected size, and include a spout to support controlled pouring of liquids after use.
While crystallizing dishes are similar to evaporating dishes, they are not generally used to completely evaporate a solution. They are commonly used where controlled concentration, recrystallization or crystal observation is required. The range includes 90 mm, 100 mm, 125 mm, 150 mm and 230 mm diameter options, allowing users to select the dish size required for their sample volume and bench workflow. The 125 mm option is listed as taking 500 mL of liquid, while the 150 mm option has a listed capacity of 750 mL. The 230 mm option is listed as 3.3 boro glass with 3500 mL capacity and an approximate maximum temperature of 500°C.
These dishes are suitable for chemistry teaching, recrystallization demonstrations, sample concentration, solution handling, crystallization observation and general laboratory use where compatible chemicals and heating conditions are selected. Users should confirm the required size, capacity, temperature exposure, heating method and chemical compatibility before use. Direct heating, thermal shock and incompatible chemicals should be avoided unless validated by the laboratory method. Hot glassware should be handled with suitable tongs, heat-resistant gloves and approved PPE. Glassware should be inspected before use and allowed to cool safely before cleaning or handling.
This product is intended for laboratory or educational settings only and should be used under appropriate supervision. This item is supplied as the selected borosilicate glass crystallizing dish with spout only. Lid, watch glass, hotplate, burner, tongs, chemicals and additional accessories are not included unless specified separately.
LabChoice Australia supplies Borosilicate Glass Crystallizing Dishes with Spout for school science laboratories, university teaching laboratories, chemistry laboratories, research facilities and general laboratory environments requiring practical glassware for crystallization and solution handling.
