Description
The Low-Speed Clinical Centrifuge, also known as a benchtop specimen centrifuge, is designed for routine sample separation in clinical diagnostic, pathology, biochemistry, blood bank, medical teaching and biomedical research laboratories. Its flexible rotor compatibility supports commonly used blood collection tubes, centrifuge tubes and larger-volume clinical sample containers.
The centrifuge operates from 300 to 5,000 rpm in precise 10 rpm increments and generates a maximum relative centrifugal force of 2,600 × g. RCF can be adjusted in 10 × g increments, while speed accuracy of ±20 rpm supports controlled and repeatable centrifugation. Users can select and display either rpm or RCF according to the laboratory method.
Supported rotor configurations accommodate 6 × 1.5 to 5 mL, 7 mL, 10 mL or 15 mL tubes, or 4 × 20 mL or 50 mL tubes. This tube-size flexibility allows the centrifuge to support serum, plasma, urine, faecal and other compatible clinical sample-processing workflows. The correct rotor, tube size, sample volume and balancing procedure should be selected according to the validated laboratory protocol.
Two programs, P1 and P2, allow routine centrifugation procedures to be accessed using one-key operation. Run time can be set from 30 seconds to 99 minutes, with continuous running available for extended procedures. The LCD provides clear visibility of speed, RCF and operating time, while the audible alert indicates completion of the centrifugation cycle.
One acceleration level and two selectable deceleration settings allow the stopping response to be matched to different sample requirements. A gentler deceleration setting can help reduce disturbance of separated serum, plasma, sediment or other sample layers when the laboratory method requires controlled braking.
The automatic lid-locking system restricts access to the rotor during operation and releases automatically after the centrifugation cycle has finished. Safety functions include a door interlock, overspeed detection and automatic internal diagnostics. The maintenance-free brushless DC motor supports repeated laboratory use without routine motor-brush replacement.
The compact centrifuge measures 300 × 240 × 180 mm and weighs 5.2 kg, supporting practical placement on clinical and laboratory benches. It operates from a single-phase 100 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz power supply with a rated power consumption of 70 W.
LabChoice Australia supplies this Low-Speed Clinical Centrifuge for clinical diagnostic laboratories, pathology laboratories, hospital laboratories, blood banks, biochemistry laboratories, urinalysis facilities, medical colleges and medical research institutes. It is suitable for routine separation of serum, plasma, urine, faecal samples and other compatible specimens using the appropriate rotor, balanced tube loading and validated centrifugation procedure.
