Description
The Low-Speed Clinical Centrifuge, also known as a benchtop specimen centrifuge, is designed for routine processing of blood, urine, faecal and general laboratory samples in clinical diagnostic, pathology, medical testing and biomedical research laboratories. Its compact design and selectable angle rotors support commonly used 10 mL and 15 mL laboratory tube formats.
The centrifuge provides an adjustable speed range from 300 to 4,000 rpm in 100 rpm increments and generates a maximum relative centrifugal force of 1,900 × g. Speed accuracy is specified at ±100 rpm. Operating speed can be selected and viewed in either rpm or RCF, allowing users to follow laboratory procedures written using rotational speed or centrifugal force.
The default angle rotor accommodates 8 × 15 mL compatible tubes, while an alternative angle rotor supports 12 × 10 mL tubes. The appropriate rotor and tube combination should be selected according to the specimen volume, tube dimensions, balance requirements and validated centrifugation method.
Three routine programs are provided for common clinical sample-processing workflows. The blood program operates at 3,200 rpm for 10 minutes, the urine program at 1,800 rpm for 5 minutes and the faecal program at 1,300 rpm for 10 minutes. These settings offer convenient starting parameters, but laboratories should confirm their suitability against tube manufacturer instructions, specimen requirements and internal procedures.
Run time can be set from 1 to 99 minutes, with HOLD mode available for continuous operation. Three acceleration levels and four deceleration levels allow the starting and stopping response to be adjusted according to the sample and separation requirement. Acceleration and braking times are specified at approximately 25 seconds and 35 seconds respectively.
The LED display provides clear visibility of the selected operating parameters. Automatic internal diagnosis and self-detection functions monitor instrument operation, while the maintenance-free brushless DC motor supports repeated routine use with a stated noise level of no more than 60 dB(A).
LabChoice Australia supplies this Low-Speed Clinical Centrifuge for clinical diagnostic laboratories, pathology laboratories, hospital laboratories, urinalysis laboratories, medical centres, biomedical research facilities, university teaching laboratories and general life-science laboratories. It is suitable for routine pre-analytical processing of compatible blood, urine, faecal and other laboratory samples using the correct rotor, balanced tube loading and validated centrifugation procedures.
