Description
The Advanced Resonance Apparatus with 1 m Vertical Scale, also known as a resonance tube apparatus or air-column resonance apparatus, is designed for studying sound resonance in a controlled classroom or laboratory setup. The apparatus consists of a 1 m long vertical stand with metric scale and a 20 mm plastic tube connected to a 1 L vessel of water. The water vessel is raised or lowered to adjust the water level inside the tube. A tuning fork is provided so users can check for resonance by sounding the fork and listening at the mouth of the tube while the air-column length is adjusted.
When resonance is heard clearly, the corresponding air-column lengths can be marked or recorded from the vertical scale. These lengths can then be used in calculations involving wavelength, frequency and the speed of sound. This apparatus is suitable for teaching standing waves, resonance, sound wavelength, air-column behaviour and acoustic measurement in physics and general science practicals. Users should confirm the tuning fork frequency, tube condition, vessel capacity, water level movement, scale readability and classroom procedure before use.
Use the apparatus on a stable bench or demonstration area. Avoid spilling water, overfilling the vessel or placing the apparatus near electrical equipment. Handle the tuning fork, tube and stand carefully. Do not strike the tuning fork on hard glass, bench edges or unsuitable surfaces. This product is intended for laboratory or educational settings only and should be used under appropriate supervision. This item is supplied as the selected resonance apparatus with 1 m vertical scale only. Additional tuning forks, water, thermometer, sound sensors, worksheets, clamps, PPE and additional acoustics accessories are not included unless specified separately.
LabChoice Australia supplies Resonance Apparatus and acoustics teaching equipment for school science laboratories, university teaching laboratories and educational facilities requiring practical demonstrations of resonance, standing waves and sound behaviour.
