Description
The Air Track Replacement Parts and Accessories, also known as air track laboratory spares, are designed for maintaining, repairing and configuring compatible air track systems used in physics teaching. They are suitable for school physics laboratories, university teaching laboratories and supervised educational mechanics workspaces. This range includes replacement end caps, sub base adjustment hardware, measuring tape, spark recording parts, glider magnets and buffer springs. These parts support routine air track maintenance, motion studies, timing setups and spark recording demonstrations.
The triangular plastic air inlet end cap is a moulded end cap for later model air track tubes. It accepts the air hose from the current model air blower and is stated as not suitable for older model air track tubes. The sub base adjustment stud includes a metal stud with a square plastic head and blue adjusting nut. It is used to join the underside of the later model air track to the upper side of the sub base and supports adjustment of the air tube straightness. The fibreglass tape measure is stated as 3 m long and 16 mm wide. It is designed to fit the slot in the edge of the air tube and is supplied so it can be cut to the required length.
Glider accessories include spark pens supplied as a left and right hand pair in the new wire style. The spark pens are stated to fit any glider and support compatible spark recording experiments. An Alnico glider magnet is available for fitting to the glider spine, with a stated mass of 50 g. A stainless steel buffer spring with screw is also available for fitting to the end of tracks and the ends of gliders, and is stated to fit both old and newer model air track gliders. Users should confirm air track model, glider type, tube style, sub base compatibility and experiment setup before selecting replacement parts. These accessories are intended for supervised educational use with compatible air track apparatus.
