Description
The Deflagrating Spoons with Aluminium Cap, Brass or Iron Cup, also known as combustion spoons for gas jar experiments, are designed for approved laboratory and educational demonstrations involving combustion in compatible gas jars. Each spoon follows a classical pattern, with an aluminium cap designed to cover the mouth of a suitable gas jar during the selected demonstration. The cup is deep drawn and smoothly rounded, positioned at the end of the rod to hold compatible small samples during approved combustion experiments. Available cup options include a brass cup and an iron cup, allowing users to select the suitable material for the required laboratory procedure.
A cork stopper is fitted in the cap to support the rod, helping position the spoon during compatible gas jar demonstrations. These deflagrating spoons are useful for chemistry lessons involving combustion, oxygen demonstrations, gas jar reactions and qualitative observation of burning behaviour under controlled classroom conditions. Users should confirm the gas jar mouth size, cup material, cap fit, sample type, heating method, ventilation requirement and approved experiment procedure before ordering or use. Deflagrating spoons should be handled carefully during and after heating. The cup, rod and cap may become hot during use.
Use suitable PPE, heat-resistant handling tools, ventilation and approved laboratory procedures when performing combustion demonstrations. Do not use with unapproved chemicals, excessive sample quantities or sealed pressure conditions. This product is intended for laboratory or educational settings only and should be used under appropriate teacher or laboratory supervision. This item is supplied as the selected deflagrating spoon with aluminium cap only. Gas jar, reagents, burner, matches, tongs, heat mat, PPE and additional chemistry accessories are not included unless specified separately.
