The Air Track Over-Track Photogate with Leg Supports, also known as an air track mounted photogate sensor, is designed for timing and motion measurement experiments using compatible air track systems. It is suitable for school physics laboratories, university teaching laboratories and supervised educational mechanics demonstrations.
This unit is supplied as a general purpose photogate with a pair of special spring extension legs. The legs are designed to slide tightly into receptacles on either side of the gate, allowing the photogate to fit directly to a compatible air track tube. The over-track mounting arrangement helps position the photogate securely across the air track path. This supports repeatable timing setups where gliders pass through the gate during low-friction motion experiments.
The photogate is useful for classroom experiments involving velocity, acceleration, collision timing and motion comparison.
