Description
The Cast Iron Bar Breaker Rods, Pack of 10, also known as replacement rods for a bar breaker apparatus, are designed for use in thermal expansion demonstrations. Each rod fits through a hole in the compatible bar breaker apparatus. When the bar is heated, thermal expansion places force on the cast iron rod until the rod breaks. The breaking action produces a loud report, making the demonstration effective for showing the force generated by expansion of a heated metal bar.
This product is useful for physics lessons involving thermal expansion, heat transfer, force, stress, material behaviour and energy demonstrations. The rods are made from cast iron as listed and are supplied in packs of 10, supporting repeated classroom demonstrations or replacement after use. Users should confirm the rod size, bar breaker model, heating method, demonstration setup, safety shield requirements and supervision procedure before use. The demonstration involves heat, sudden fracture and a loud sound.
