Description

Conductivity Bars Thermal is a four-metal heat conduction demonstrator designed to compare how quickly different metals transfer heat under the same conditions. The set includes copper, brass, aluminium, and steel in a single 200 × 50 × 6 mm plate format, intended for use with a beaker of hot water.
Instructions: Fill a beaker with hot water, 60°C or higher. Dip the exposed end of the apparatus into the water and observe the colour change along each metal. Each 1 cm “blackish” square should become more transparent or brighter as heat conducts through that metal. Faster change indicates higher thermal conductivity under the same immersion and timing conditions.
Warning: Take necessary precautions when handling hot or boiling water.
Our products are for use in a laboratory or educational setting only.
