Description
The Heat Conductometer on Handle, also known as a metal thermal conductivity conductometer, is designed for demonstrating how different metals conduct heat. This apparatus includes five metal rods: aluminium, brass, copper, nickel and steel. The rods are arranged so they can be heated simultaneously over a suitable flame, allowing students to compare heat transfer across different metals. The metal types are stamped on the centre circle using the letters A, B, S, N and C, helping users identify each rod during the experiment and compare results clearly.
Students can observe how quickly the wax at the tip of each rod melts, giving a practical visual indication of which metal conducts heat most effectively under the same heating conditions. The apparatus includes the required materials for the demonstration, including a wax block and instructions as listed. A separate heat source is required. The handle length is listed as 26 cm, providing a practical hand-held format for supervised classroom demonstrations. This product is useful for school science laboratories, university teaching laboratories and physics or chemistry classrooms studying heat transfer, conduction, materials and comparative thermal properties. Users should confirm the heat source, flame position, wax placement, demonstration distance, ventilation and risk assessment before use.
The rods, centre section and wax may become hot during and after heating. Do not touch heated metal directly. Use suitable heat protection, eye protection and approved laboratory procedures. This product is intended for laboratory or educational settings only and should be used under appropriate supervision. This item is supplied as the heat conductometer with five metal rods, wax block and instructions only. Heat source, burner, matches, lighter, tripod, heatproof mat, PPE and additional heat transfer accessories are not included unless specified separately.
LabChoice Australia supplies Heat Conductometers and thermal conductivity teaching equipment for school science laboratories, university teaching laboratories and educational facilities requiring practical tools for heat conduction demonstrations.
