Description
The BeeSpi V Photogate, also known as a portable photogate speed measurement unit, is designed for measuring object speed in physics classrooms, school science laboratories, university teaching laboratories and supervised educational mechanics experiments.
This handy photogate supports practical motion studies involving free fall, dynamic carts and projectile velocity. It allows students to observe speed measurements directly during classroom demonstrations and hands-on investigations. The unit uses two parallel photogates to detect, measure and display the speed of objects passing through the sensing area. This makes it useful for timing and speed measurement activities where a compact, battery-operated photogate is preferred. The BeeSpi V measures speeds from zero to 99.99 km/h. It can display measurements in cm/s and km/h, supporting comparison between classroom units and helping students connect experimental data with motion concepts.
The photogate can store up to 5 measurements at a time. This supports quick review during practical work, allowing students and teachers to compare repeated runs without immediately recording every result manually. The unit operates using 2 × AAA batteries, which are not included. Users should install suitable batteries before use and confirm the instrument is operating correctly before beginning experiments. This product is intended for laboratory and educational use only. It should be used under appropriate supervision, with safe setup for moving objects, free fall activities, carts and projectile demonstrations.
LabChoice Australia supplies BeeSpi V Photogates for school physics departments, university teaching laboratories and educational mechanics workspaces. They are suitable for supervised speed measurement, free fall timing, cart motion studies, projectile demonstrations and classroom investigations of velocity using appropriate experimental procedures.
