Description
The Powder Coated Stream Tray, also known as a stream formation tray or erosion demonstration tray, is designed for studying the effects of flowing water on sand, soil-like materials and compatible sediment mixtures. The IEC stream tray is made from strong steel and is powder coated against corrosion, supporting repeated classroom use when cleaned and dried correctly after experiments. Sand and other suitable materials can be spread inside the tray to simulate soil, landscape surfaces or sediment beds. Water is then introduced to observe erosion, sediment movement, channel formation, stream paths and river development.
This apparatus is useful for earth science, geography, environmental science and general science teaching, helping students visualise how flowing water shapes landforms over time. The listed tray size is 825 × 370 × 100 mm, providing a practical demonstration area for controlled classroom experiments while remaining suitable for bench-top or preparation-room handling. Users should confirm the required sand type, water volume, slope setup, drainage method, bench support, cleanup procedure and storage requirements before use. Use the tray on a stable surface and avoid overfilling. Water and wet sand can make the tray heavy, and spills may create slip hazards during classroom demonstrations.
After use, remove sediment, rinse and dry the tray according to the approved laboratory procedure to help protect the coating and reduce corrosion risk. This product is intended for laboratory or educational settings only and should be used under appropriate supervision. This item is supplied as the powder coated stream tray only. Sand, soil, water supply, drainage tubing, stands, supports, collection trays, measuring tools, worksheets and additional earth science accessories are not included unless specified separately.
LabChoice Australia supplies Stream Trays and earth science teaching equipment for school science laboratories, university teaching laboratories and educational facilities requiring practical tools for erosion, sediment transport and stream formation demonstrations.
