Description
The Crookes Radiometer Single, 125 mm High, also known as a light mill radiometer, is designed for demonstrating the relationship between light, heat and molecular activity in a visible classroom format. The radiometer contains a lightweight rotor inside a sealed glass bulb. When exposed to suitable light or radiant heat, the vanes rotate, helping students observe that light energy can produce motion. This apparatus supports lessons on light as a form of energy, energy conversion, radiation, heat transfer and gas particle behaviour.
The product is listed with dimensions of 125 mm high × 75 mm diameter, making it suitable for bench-top classroom demonstrations and student observation. It is useful for school science laboratories, university teaching laboratories and physics classrooms studying heat, light, energy and molecular activity. Users should refer to the product PDF for further information, experiment notes and recommended demonstration procedures.
The radiometer should be handled carefully because it contains a fragile glass bulb. Avoid impact, dropping, strong vibration, sudden temperature change or pressure on the glass. Do not place the radiometer too close to intense heat sources, open flames or hot surfaces unless the approved procedure specifically allows it. This product is intended for laboratory or educational settings only and should be used under appropriate supervision. This item is supplied as the single Crookes radiometer only. Light source, lamp, heat source, stand, worksheets, PPE and additional accessories are not included unless specified separately.
LabChoice Australia supplies Crookes Radiometers and physics demonstration apparatus for school science laboratories, university teaching laboratories and educational facilities requiring practical equipment for heat, light and energy experiments.
