Description
The Polaroid Filter Pairs, also known as square polarising filter pairs, are designed for classroom optics experiments where students investigate polarised light and light transmission through polarising material. These filters are supplied in pairs, making them suitable for demonstrations where two filters are aligned, rotated or crossed to observe changes in transmitted light intensity.
Standard square size options include 50 × 50 mm, 75 × 75 mm and 100 × 100 mm. This allows users to select the most suitable filter size for their light source, holder, optical bench setup or classroom demonstration method. The Polaroid film thickness is listed as 0.18 mm, providing a thin filter format suitable for compatible optics activities and polarisation demonstrations. These filter pairs can be used to demonstrate polarisation, analyser and polariser behaviour, crossed filter extinction, filter rotation effects and changes in light transmission through polarising films.
A related larger Polaroid filter option is available with a total area equivalent to 300 × 300 mm for users who need to cut other pieces. The large size may not always be supplied as one continuous piece, so this should be confirmed before ordering if required. Users should confirm the required filter size, holder compatibility, optical bench setup and experiment method before use. The film should be handled carefully to avoid scratches, creasing or surface damage. This item is supplied as the selected pair of Polaroid filters only. Light source, optical bench, filter holder, screen and any additional accessories are not included unless specified separately.
LabChoice Australia supplies Polaroid Filter Pairs for school science laboratories, physics classrooms, university teaching spaces and optics education environments requiring practical apparatus for polarisation and light transmission demonstrations.
