Description
The TriMode Signal Generator, also known as a combined signal generator, DC power supply and audio amplifier, is designed for electronics teaching, circuit demonstrations and wave experiments in physics laboratories, electronics classrooms and university teaching laboratories.
This instrument combines three useful teaching functions in one unit. It provides a regulated DC power supply, a high power signal generator and an audio amplifier, reducing the need for multiple separate instruments during classroom experiments. The power supply section is stated as a metered and regulated ±1.2 to 20 V DC supply with 250 mA output. This supports practical low-voltage circuit work, component demonstrations and introductory electronics activities. The signal generator section covers 0.1 Hz to 100 kHz and is stated to provide the same high power output of 0.5 A as the related high power signal generator range. This makes it suitable for waveform demonstrations, resonance activities, audio experiments and practical signal investigations.
Waveform options are stated as sine, triangular and square waveforms, including square output with positive and negative excursion and square output with positive excursion only. These waveform choices support signal comparison, oscilloscope demonstrations and frequency-response experiments. The built-in audio amplifier includes high and low sensitivity inputs, an oscilloscope output and an internal speaker. This supports demonstrations involving sound, amplification, signal tracing and waveform observation without needing a separate amplifier for many classroom activities. The instrument operates from 240 V AC mains power and should be used only under appropriate supervision.
