Description
The Digital Xenon Stroboscopes, also known as high-intensity classroom and industrial strobe lights, are designed for observing moving, rotating and vibrating objects without physical contact. They are suitable for physics laboratories, technical teaching spaces, industrial maintenance areas and supervised motion study demonstrations.
The XE model has been used in classroom and industrial environments for many years. Its large 150 mm diameter reflector produces a bright Xenon flash, making it suitable for observing a subject even where background lighting is already bright. The frequency can be adjusted from 1.0 Hz to 300 Hz. The digital display can show either flashes per second in Hz or RPM, allowing the instrument to be used for both frequency-based experiments and rotating device speed observation.
The stroboscope can be triggered from an external source and can also be synchronised with mains frequency. This supports demonstrations involving periodic motion, rotating parts, vibration, speed comparison and apparent frozen motion. The pivoting carry handle also functions as a tilt support, helping the user position the stroboscope during bench demonstrations or practical observation work. The XEH model is mainly suited to industrial-style applications and permits connection to compatible remote flash accessories, including a remote flash torch or a flash head with 150 mm diameter reflector. These accessories should be confirmed or ordered separately where required.
As with all high-intensity stroboscopes, the instrument can make moving objects appear stationary or slowly moving. Users must keep hands, tools, leads and loose clothing away from moving machinery or rotating apparatus, even when the object appears still. The unit operates from 240 V AC mains power and should be used under appropriate supervision. Avoid direct eye exposure to the Xenon flash and consider users who may be sensitive to flashing light.
LabChoice Australia supplies Digital Xenon Stroboscopes for school physics departments, university teaching laboratories, technical training areas and industrial motion observation workspaces. They are suitable for supervised demonstrations involving RPM measurement, vibration analysis, rotating machinery observation, stroboscopy and non-contact motion study.
