Description
The Spectrum Tube Set of 6, also known as a gas discharge spectrum tube set, is designed for spectroscopy demonstrations and atomic emission studies in physics classrooms, chemistry laboratories, university teaching laboratories and supervised educational environments. This set includes six spectrum tubes covering hydrogen, mercury, helium, nitrogen, neon and argon. Each gas produces a characteristic discharge pattern, allowing students to compare emission spectra and observe how different elements or gases produce different spectral lines. The tubes are described as high quality, with bright discharge and reliable performance. This supports clear classroom observation during practical lessons involving emission spectra, gas discharge behaviour and light analysis.
Each tube has a stated overall length of 208 mm and a diameter of 12 mm at the large ends. The size supports use with a compatible spectrum tube EHV power unit that has the correct socket and connection format. The tubes are designed to mount directly into a deep socket on the top face of the compatible power unit. This arrangement avoids the use of separate high-voltage cables during the demonstration setup. The set is supplied in a foam case, supporting organised storage and safer handling between demonstrations. Users should handle the tubes carefully, avoid impact and inspect tubes before use. This product requires a compatible high-voltage spectrum tube power supply and must be used only under appropriate supervision by trained staff or qualified instructors. Users should follow suitable laboratory safety procedures, avoid touching tubes or sockets during operation and allow tubes to cool before handling.
LabChoice Australia supplies Spectrum Tube Sets for school physics departments, chemistry laboratories, university teaching laboratories and spectroscopy demonstration environments. They are suitable for supervised atomic emission studies, spectral line observation, gas discharge demonstrations and introductory spectroscopy experiments using compatible high-voltage apparatus.
