Description
The Litmus Test Paper Strips, also known as acid-base indicator paper, are designed for simple qualitative testing of water-based solutions in school science laboratories, chemistry classrooms and general laboratory settings. This economy litmus paper range is listed as SSS brand and is available in blue, red and neutral litmus paper options. Each type is used to indicate whether a solution is acidic, alkaline or neutral in a simple visual format.
Blue litmus paper is used to identify acidic solutions. When dipped into an acidic water-based solution, the blue strip turns red. In alkaline solutions, it remains unchanged.
Red litmus paper is used to identify alkaline solutions. When dipped into an alkaline water-based solution, the red strip turns blue. In acidic solutions, it remains unchanged.
Neutral litmus paper can indicate both acidic and alkaline behaviour. It turns red in acidic solutions and blue in alkaline solutions.
Litmus paper is a qualitative indicator and does not provide a precise pH value. A colour chart is not supplied because the test is intended to show acid or base behaviour rather than a defined pH reading. For use, remove one strip carefully without touching the test area, dip it into the solution for 1 to 2 seconds, then remove and observe the colour change. The solution must be water-based for correct use.
Product images may show both red and blue litmus paper for reference. The supplied item depends on the selected product code, such as blue only, red only or neutral only. These strips are suitable for school chemistry experiments, acid-base demonstrations, introductory pH testing, classroom practicals and general laboratory education. They are not intended for medical diagnosis, treatment or health testing. This item is supplied as the selected litmus paper strip format only. Test tubes, beakers, droppers, colour charts, solutions and additional accessories are not included unless specified separately.
LabChoice Australia supplies Litmus Test Paper Strips for school science laboratories, chemistry classrooms, university teaching spaces and general education laboratories requiring practical acid-base indicator consumables.
