Description
The Iodine Test Paper, also known as iodine indicator paper or iodine test strips, is designed for checking the approximate level of available iodine in compatible solutions. The supplied information states that the test paper detects iodine in solution at 0, 12.5, 25 and 50 ppm increments, with the result determined by comparing the wet strip against the colour chart. For testing, remove one strip from the vial using dry fingers, dip the strip into the solution for 60 seconds without agitation, then remove and compare immediately while the strip is still wet. The colour comparison indicates the approximate strength of the solution in parts per million (ppm) available iodine, making the strips useful for classroom demonstrations, chemistry activities and compatible solution-checking workflows.
The supplied information notes that iodine disinfection occurs between 12.5 ppm and 25 ppm, and that this is an older method used for sanitising utensils and dishware in the restaurant trade. Users should confirm the required ppm range, colour chart availability, solution type, test time, storage conditions, expiry status and intended testing method before use. These strips are not for medical diagnosis, treatment decisions, clinical testing or any medical-device application. Precision Laboratories products are stated as not approved for use as medical devices, and the product information is for informational purposes only.
Handle iodine-containing solutions carefully and follow approved PPE, hygiene, chemical handling and disposal procedures for the solution being tested. This product is intended for laboratory or educational settings only and should be used under appropriate supervision. This item is supplied as Iodine Test Paper, vial of 100 strips only. Iodine solutions, sample containers, timers, PPE, replacement colour charts, worksheets and additional testing accessories are not included unless specified separately.
LabChoice Australia supplies Iodine Test Paper and laboratory indicator papers for school science laboratories, university teaching laboratories, food science teaching areas and general educational laboratories requiring practical strips for iodine solution checks.
