Description
Vial packed test paper strips for quick visual checks of moisture presence, narrow range acidity using Congo Red indicator, and fluoride level screening in water. Supplied as 100 strips per vial, with usage notes and handling requirements varying by strip type.
Cobalt Chloride Moisture Test Paper Strips, 100 Strip Vial
Cobalt chloride test paper detects the presence of moisture. Stated responsive to 50% relative humidity and above, and to direct contact with an aqueous solution. Use is described for difficult to reach places and recesses. Colour change stated blue to light pink or white when moisture is present. Keep strips sealed tightly in the vial, exposure to 55% relative humidity or greater can cause a slow colour change. If sheets are heated or surrounding air dries, the paper can change back to blue.
Congo Red Acid Range Test Paper Strips, 100 Strip Vial
Congo Red test paper is used to test narrow range acidic solutions, described for acid washes for metal plating where pH values are very low (pH 1.0–3.0). The indicator remains blue below pH 3.0, then gradually turns to a brilliant red above pH 5.2. Instructions state to remove one strip without touching it beyond fingertip grip, dip into the solution for 1–2 seconds, then remove. The solution must be water based. Fluoride Test Strips 0–100 ppm Steps, 100 Strip Vial
Fluoride test strip detects fluoride in steps of 0, 10, 25, 50, and 100 ppm. Described for monitoring fluoride levels in drinking water supplied by city or townships. The solution to be tested is stated to need pH 0.5 for accuracy. Acidification is described using concentrated hydrochloric acid (muriatic acid), with pH checked using a pH 0–1.5 test strip. Notes state hydrochloric acid may be available from hardware or pool and spa stores and from chemical distributors. Test strip result must be adjusted to compensate for dilution used during acidification.
