Description
The Salinity Test Paper Strips, also known as chloride test strips or salinity indicator strips, are designed for approximate measurement of chloride ion, Cl⁻, in compatible solution samples. These strips measure chloride concentration from 0–1000 ppm Cl as listed, making them useful for demonstrating salinity differences between fresh water and salt water in educational settings. The test strips can also support lessons on dissolved salts, ionic concentration, freezing point depression and boiling point elevation, helping students connect simple water testing with broader chemistry concepts.
For samples with high salt content, dilution with deionised water may be required before testing. In these cases, the measured result must be corrected using the appropriate dilution factor to calculate the final chloride concentration. Users should confirm colour chart availability, test method, sample type, dilution procedure, reading time, storage conditions, expiry status and required accuracy before use. These strips are intended for approximate screening and educational demonstration only. They should not be used where certified water analysis, regulatory compliance testing or calibrated instrumental measurement is required.
