The Dual Range Centre Zero Student Microammeter, also known as a centre zero DC microamp current meter, is designed for teaching current direction, polarity and small-current measurement in physics laboratories, electronics classrooms and supervised educational circuit experiments.
The centre zero scale allows the pointer to deflect either side of zero. This makes the meter useful for showing current direction, polarity reversal and positive or negative current movement during controlled DC circuit demonstrations. Each model is supplied as a dual range student microammeter. This allows users to select between a more sensitive microamp range and a higher microamp range according to the expected current level in the experiment. Available range options include DC 20-0-100 µA with 100-0-500 µA, and DC 50-0-50 µA with 500-0-500 µA.
