Description
The Tube Rotator, also known as a rotating mixer, provides gentle and continuous rotational mixing for samples contained in sealed centrifuge tubes. It is supplied with interchangeable disk and rotisserie accessories for holding 12 × 1.5 mL, 12 × 15 mL and 12 × 50 mL centrifuge tubes. This multi-size configuration allows the instrument to support microvolume samples, standard laboratory tubes and larger-volume sample preparation using one compact benchtop unit.
The controlled rotating action helps keep liquid samples, particles, cells, beads and other suspended materials uniformly mixed without the vigorous agitation associated with high-speed vortex mixing. This makes the tube rotator suitable for procedures requiring continuous, low-intensity sample movement, including routine reagent mixing, suspension maintenance, sample preparation and laboratory testing.
The adjustable speed range from 0 to 80 rpm allows users to select a suitable rotational speed according to the tube size, sample volume, liquid characteristics and laboratory protocol. A scale-based control provides straightforward manual speed adjustment, while the continuous operating mode supports extended mixing procedures without the need to repeatedly restart the instrument. The DC motor is rated at 20 W and operates from a 100 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz power supply.
The Tube Rotator can support sample-mixing stages associated with immunoprecipitation, protein-binding procedures, nucleic acid extraction, blood sample mixing, cell suspension preparation, hybridisation, Western blot sample preparation, bead-based assays and NGS sample preparation, where compatible with the laboratory protocol. It is also suitable for continuous mixing of samples in sealed tubes, maintaining biological materials in suspension, blending liquid reagents and preparing samples before analytical testing.
Its 300 × 220 × 310 mm dimensions allow practical placement on laboratory benches where workspace must be managed efficiently. The unit is designed for operation at ambient temperatures from 5 to 40°C and relative humidity levels up to 80% RH, supporting use under standard controlled laboratory conditions.
LabChoice Australia supplies the Tube Rotator for biotechnology, molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, clinical diagnostic, pathology, pharmaceutical research, life-science, university, educational and industrial quality-control laboratories requiring controlled and continuous mixing across multiple centrifuge tube sizes.
