Description
The Polaroid Filter Pair with Circular Scale, also known as a scaled polarising filter pair, is designed for classroom optics experiments where students investigate polarisation and light transmission through rotating filters. This product is supplied as a pair of special Polaroid filters, each measuring 100 × 100 mm. The square format supports practical handling during optics demonstrations and teaching laboratory activities.
One filter includes a printed circular scale with degree markings. The second filter includes a simple cross, allowing one filter to be aligned over the other during experiment setup. As one filter is rotated against the other, rotary displacement can be measured on the printed scale. This supports clear observation of how transmitted light changes as the relative filter angle is adjusted. The filter pair is suitable for demonstrating polariser and analyser behaviour, crossed-filter extinction, maximum and reduced light transmission, and the relationship between filter rotation and observed brightness.
The Polaroid film thickness is listed as 0.18 mm, providing a thin filter format suitable for compatible classroom optics activities. Users should handle the filters carefully to avoid scratches, creasing or surface damage. Light source alignment, filter positioning and viewing method should be confirmed before starting the experiment. This item is supplied as the 100 × 100 mm Polaroid filter pair with printed scale and alignment cross only. Light source, optical bench, filter holder, screen and any additional accessories are not included unless specified separately.
LabChoice Australia supplies Polaroid Filter Pairs with Circular Scale for school science laboratories, physics classrooms, university teaching spaces and optics education environments requiring practical apparatus for polarisation and light transmission demonstrations.
