Description

The large demonstration manometer is a wall-hung U-tube water manometer designed for showing and measuring very small pressure differences using water height. The unit is approximately 100 × 560 mm (W × H) and includes a hanging ring for mounting. A clear 12 mm diameter PVC hose is formed into a U-tube, with a 400 mm long scale fitted between the vertical legs for reading level difference, typically up to ±300 mm as supplied.
The open ends of the PVC tube protrude above the top of the instrument so additional tubing can be attached for gentle blowing or low-pressure connections. This makes it suitable for demonstrating how low pressur
es are measured in mm of water column, including small gas pressures. Water manometers are also the traditional method used by gas plumbers to check household gas pressure.
