Description
The Vacuum Surface Plate, 200 mm Diameter, also known as a vacuum plate or bell jar base plate, is designed for use with compatible bell jars or similar vessels during vacuum demonstrations. The IEC surface plate is a flat plate with 3 small pads designed to rest on the work bench, helping support the plate during classroom and laboratory demonstrations. The plate is designed to carry and seal to a compatible bell jar or similar vessel, allowing a vacuum to be created for approved experiments. This surface plate is often used for demonstrating a bell in a vacuum, where students observe how sound transmission changes as air is removed from the vessel.
It is also suitable for other supervised vacuum demonstrations where a compatible bell jar, vacuum source and safe laboratory procedure are used. The listed diameter is 200 mm, so users should confirm bell jar diameter, sealing surface, gasket requirement, vacuum level, pump connection and experiment setup before ordering or use. Vacuum apparatus should be inspected before use. Do not use with cracked glassware, damaged sealing surfaces, unsuitable vessels or excessive vacuum levels outside the approved apparatus rating.
This product is intended for laboratory or educational settings only and should be used under appropriate supervision. This item is supplied as the vacuum surface plate only. Bell jar, vacuum pump, tubing, gasket, bell apparatus, pressure gauge, clamps, PPE and additional vacuum accessories are not included unless specified separately.
