Description
The DC Smoothing Unit, also known as a power supply filter unit, is designed to be connected to a compatible unfiltered DC output from a laboratory power supply. This IEC smoothing unit helps change a rectified, unfiltered DC output into smoother DC for experiments where a more stable DC supply is required. The unit consists of capacitors and a choke, providing effective filtering of the DC output from a compatible power supply.
The current capacity is listed up to 8 A DC, making it suitable for selected low-voltage laboratory and classroom circuit applications within the rated operating limit. This smoothing unit is useful when working with power supplies that provide full-wave rectified but unfiltered DC, especially where electronic circuits or demonstrations require smoother DC behaviour.
