Description
The Digital DC Ammeters, also known as LCD classroom DC current meters, are designed for measuring direct current in physics laboratories, electronics classrooms, university teaching laboratories and supervised educational circuit experiments.
These Australian-made DC ammeters are designed for classroom durability and simple operation. The clear LCD display supports teacher demonstrations and student practical work where DC current readings need to be observed quickly and consistently. The range includes three DC current options. The 200 µA model measures from 00.0 to 199.9 µA DC with 0.1 µA resolution, the 2 A model measures from 0.000 to 1.999 A DC with 1 mA resolution, and the 20 A model measures from 0.00 to 19.99 A DC with 10 mA resolution.
These range options support different teaching requirements, from sensitive microamp circuit investigations through to higher current classroom demonstrations. Users should select the correct model according to the expected current level and circuit design. Each meter is powered by a standard 9 V battery, which is described as easy to change when required. A low battery alarm displays before replacement is required, with the supplied details stating that accuracy is not affected during the warning period.
Automatic power off occurs after 20 minutes to help protect against battery drain when the meter is left on. One touch of the ON button restores the display, supporting practical use across repeated classroom activities. If the rated DC range is exceeded, a red LED illuminates as an over-range reminder. This supports safer classroom operation by clearly indicating when the selected meter range has been exceeded. The design has no knobs, switches or fuses to replace, reducing routine maintenance compared with more fragile analogue meter styles. This makes the range suitable for repeated student handling in supervised educational environments.
