Description

The Air Track Gliders, also known as low-friction air track motion gliders, are designed for mechanics experiments involving motion, velocity, acceleration, momentum and collisions. They are suitable for school physics laboratories, university teaching laboratories and supervised educational mechanics demonstrations. These gliders are used with compatible air track systems to support low-friction movement during practical experiments. They help students observe linear motion and compare behaviour under different mass, timing and collision conditions.

Two standard glider lengths are available: 200 mm and 100 mm. The 200 mm gliders have a stated weight of 200 g, while the 100 mm gliders have a stated weight of 100 g. Each glider is fitted with weight carrier blocks. These allow compatible masses to be added for controlled mass variation during acceleration, momentum and collision comparison activities.

Colour options are available in black and gold for both lengths. This supports easier identification of different gliders during paired collision experiments, photogate timing activities and classroom demonstrations. Users should select the glider length, weight and colour according to the required experiment setup, track length, timing method and mass comparison activity. Compatibility with the air track system and accessory weights should be confirmed before use.

LabChoice Australia supplies Air Track Gliders for school physics departments, university teaching laboratories and educational mechanics workspaces. They are suitable for supervised experiments involving low-friction motion, collisions, momentum, acceleration, velocity measurement and mass variation using compatible air tracks and accessories.
