Description
The Selectavolt Regulated DC Power Supply, also known as a dry cell simulation power supply, is designed for school science laboratories and physics classrooms requiring smooth low-voltage DC output. This IEC Selectavolt power supply provides selectable regulated DC voltages of 1.5 V, 3 V and 6 V. The required voltage is selected using a slide switch located on the rear panel. The output current is listed as 2 A continuous or 3 A intermittent, supporting a range of compatible low-voltage classroom circuit experiments.
The regulated outputs are smooth DC and are designed to simulate dry cell batteries, making the unit useful for experiments where a stable battery-like supply is preferred. There are no AC outputs on this model. It is intended specifically for regulated low-voltage DC applications. Output is provided through 4 mm spin-free IEC terminals, supporting connection to compatible laboratory leads and classroom circuit apparatus.
Rear panel 4 mm sockets permit trickle charging of compatible NiCd cells from 1.5 V to 6 V, subject to approved charging method, cell condition and supervision requirements. This power supply is suitable for basic electricity studies, electronics practicals, lamp circuits, motor demonstrations, dry cell replacement demonstrations and low-voltage DC investigations using compatible loads. Users should confirm the selected voltage, connected load, current requirement, lead compatibility and battery charging suitability before use. Only compatible NiCd cells should be used for charging where the approved procedure allows it.
This product is intended for laboratory or educational settings only. As a mains-powered electrical device, it should be used under appropriate teacher or laboratory supervision. This item is supplied as the Selectavolt regulated DC power supply only. Leads, cells, lamps, motors, circuit boards, meters and additional accessories are not included unless specified separately.
