Description
Orbital Shaking Incubator range applications include cell culture, staining and destaining, hybridisations, solubility studies, extraction procedures, plasmid purification, washing procedures, bacterial suspensions, DNA fingerprinting, protein expressions, and general mixing.
This combined range includes the Medium Orbital Shaking Incubator and the XLarge Cooling Orbital Shaking Incubator. The medium model is a compact benchtop orbital mixer within a temperature-controlled cabinet, with a 400 x 400 mm square orbital mixing platform and ambient +6°C to 70°C operation. The XLarge cooling model is a heavy-duty orbital mixer within a temperature-controlled cabinet, designed to run for extended periods when required, with a 700 x 530 mm orbital mixing platform.
Separate clearly marked controls and displays for temperature, speed, and timer support easy operation and monitoring across the range. Large LED digital displays provide clear temperature and speed visibility, while the XLarge model also includes 3 user-preset programs for speed and time. Slow acceleration is incorporated into the drive system to reduce the risk of spillage, and a safety system cuts power to the drive if an overload or jamming occurs.
Fan-assisted heating with custom microprocessor control supports accurate temperature control inside the cabinet. The medium model includes a fully transparent cabinet for easy observation and a hinged top cover for access to the platform. For ease of cleaning, the cabinet complete with hinged cover can be removed without tools. The XLarge cooling model includes an insulated cabinet for temperature stability and a built-in recirculation system that allows cooled water from an external source to be used for temperature control at and below ambient, with the Ratek RC4 Refrigerated Cooler listed as most suitable for this purpose.
A nitrile mat is supplied fitted to the platform and is suitable for holding containers at low speeds. For higher speeds, optional racks are available. The RR10 Universal Rack is ideal for the medium model when different sizes and types of containers are used, while the RR25 Universal Rack is suitable for the XLarge model. Stainless steel tulip clips are also available for the XLarge model, dedicated to conical flasks from 50 mL to 2 litre. Also known as an incubated shaker, shaking oven, high performance shaker, orbital shaker, digital shaker, laboratory shaker, variable speed mixer, variable speed shaker, rotary mixer, or rotary shaker.
