The Mechanical Equivalent of Heat J Apparatus, also known as a Joule’s mechanical equivalent of heat apparatus, is designed for physics demonstrations involving the relationship between mechanical work, heat generation and electrical heating. This apparatus is described as an older style unit patterned on the old Griffin model in the UK, where mechanical work done is converted into heat and compared with the electrical equivalent.
