Description
The High-Speed Centrifuge, also known as a multi-rotor laboratory centrifuge, is designed for rapid separation and processing of samples held in compatible microcentrifuge tubes, PCR strip tubes and 5 mL centrifuge tubes. Its five optional rotor configurations allow laboratories to adapt the instrument to different sample volumes, tube formats and routine centrifugation requirements.
The centrifuge provides an adjustable speed range from 200 to 15,000 rpm in precise 10 rpm increments and generates a maximum relative centrifugal force of 21,380 × g. RCF can also be adjusted in 10 × g increments, while speed accuracy of ±20 rpm supports consistent operation during high-speed separation procedures. Users can switch between speed and RCF display according to the requirements of the laboratory protocol.
Available rotor configurations accommodate 24 × 1.5 or 2 mL tubes, 36 × 0.2 or 0.5 mL tubes, 4 × PCR 8-tube strips, 12 × 5 mL tubes or 18 × 5 mL tubes. Adapters support smaller 0.2 and 0.5 mL tube formats where specified. The three-layer sealed rotor construction is designed to support secure centrifugation, while the high-strength aluminium alloy rotors can be fully autoclaved at 121°C for laboratory procedures requiring steam sterilisation.
Run times can be programmed from 30 seconds to 99 minutes, with continuous operation available for longer centrifugation procedures. The short-time run function supports brief spin-down steps, while the audible alert indicates completion of the cycle. Acceleration and braking are specified at approximately 25 seconds each.
The brushless DC motor provides maintenance-free operation and supports repeated high-speed use while maintaining a specified noise level of no more than 64 dB. The rotor system is designed for fast cooling and reduced energy consumption, helping support routine laboratory operation without an active refrigerated temperature-control system.
Safety functions include a dual door interlock, overspeed detection, over-temperature monitoring as specified by the manufacturer and automatic internal diagnostics. These systems help monitor operating conditions and restrict access to the rotor during centrifugation. The centrifuge measures 364 × 280 × 266 mm, weighs 12 kg and has a rated power consumption of 200 W.
LabChoice Australia supplies this High-Speed Centrifuge for molecular biology, PCR, genomics, biotechnology, biochemistry, chemistry, pharmaceutical research, university, industrial research and general life-science laboratories. It is suitable for high-speed separation, sample clarification, nucleic acid preparation, microsample processing, PCR workflow preparation and routine centrifugation using compatible tubes, adapters and validated laboratory methods.
