Description
The Desiccator Jar with Plain Lid, also known as a neutral glass laboratory desiccator, is designed for controlled low-humidity storage of moisture-sensitive materials. It is suitable for analytical laboratories, school science laboratories, university teaching laboratories, quality control laboratories, microbiology laboratories and research facilities.
This desiccator jar provides a practical enclosed environment for drying, cooling, weighing preparation and protected storage. It is commonly used for hygroscopic powders, filter papers, crucibles, reagents, analytical samples and other compatible materials that need protection from ambient humidity between laboratory steps.
The body is made from die-pressed neutral glass. The die-pressed construction supports uniform wall thickness and practical mechanical strength for repeated handling in teaching, preparation and research environments.
The plain lid is designed to sit securely on the desiccator rim to help maintain a low-moisture internal environment when used with a suitable desiccant. Users should ensure the lid and rim are clean before use and follow the laboratory’s sealing and handling procedures.
The clear glass body allows users to view stored samples without unnecessary opening. This helps reduce disturbance to the desiccator environment and supports organised storage during routine laboratory workflows.
The smooth internal glass surface supports practical cleaning between uses and helps reduce residue carryover. Drying agents may be placed inside using a compatible desiccator plate or suitable laboratory arrangement, depending on the selected setup and method.
This desiccator is intended for non-vacuum laboratory storage and desiccation unless a vacuum-rated version is specifically selected. It should not be exposed to unsupported heating, thermal shock, impact damage, vacuum pressure or incompatible chemicals. Users should confirm sample, desiccant and cleaning compatibility before use.
LabChoice Australia supplies Die-Pressed Neutral Glass Desiccator Jars with Plain Lids for schools, universities, research laboratories, analytical laboratories, microbiology laboratories and industrial quality control environments. They are suitable for low-humidity storage, drying, cooling and protected sample handling in routine laboratory workflows.
