Description
Calorimetry components centred on copper calorimeter cups in 50 x 75 mm and 75 x 100 mm sizes, with nickel plated outside finish on the single cup models. Options include a paired inner and outer cup set with lid and stirrer for water use, an insulation box and lid for the 50 x 75 mm cup, and a Joule’s calorimeter cup assembly with insert, terminals, and a 2 ohm heating coil for electrical heating measurements.

Calorimeter cup, standard small size, spun from copper sheet, size 50 x 75 mm diameter x height, with rolled edge. Polished with a nickel plated outside finish.
Copper Calorimeter Cup 75 x 100 mm, Nickel Plated Outside, Rolled Edge
Calorimeter cup, large size, spun from copper sheet, size 75 x 100 mm diameter x height, with rolled edge. Polished with a nickel plated outside finish.
Calorimeter Cup Pair Inner and Outer, Lid and Stirrer, Thermometer Hole, Water Use
Calorimeter cups pair with outer cup 75 x 100 mm diameter x height and a styrene foam insulation pad in the bottom of the cup to support and centralise the inner calorimeter cup 50 x 75 mm diameter x height. Mouths of both cups are level so a single plastic lid engages and holds both cups aligned, and carries a stirrer that operates inside the smaller cup. Hole provided in the centre of the lid permits a thermometer to be inserted. Stirrer operates in a vertical action without touching the thermometer. Designed to be used with water only.
Calorimeter Insulation Box and Lid Only, For 50 x 75 mm Cup, Polystyrene, Thermometer Holes
IEC insulation box and lid for calorimeter cup 50 x 75 mm diameter x height. Specially moulded, high density and very strong polystyrene insulation container with lid for insulation during heating or cooling. Colour may be either blue or white. Styrene foam lid is large enough to fully cover the ABS plastic calorimeter lid if fitted. Holes provided in the styrene foam lid for the handle of the stirrer and for a central thermometer.
Joule’s Calorimeter Cup 50 x 75 mm, Lid and Insert, 2 Ohm Heating Coil, 4 mm Terminals
IEC Joule’s calorimeter is a standard 50 x 75 mm diameter x height copper calorimeter cup with the Joule’s insert fitted. Joule’s insert consists of a calorimeter lid complete with stirrer, with 2 x 4 mm spin free socket head IEC terminals supporting conducting rods that carry a 2 ohm resistance heating coil. When fitted to a calorimeter cup, a certain weight of water can be heated a certain number of degrees and the electrical energy required to do this can be accurately measured. Often used with the insulating box and lid
