Description
The Aepinus capacitor is an adjustable air capacitor designed for stable, repeatable capacitance experiments using two interchangeable sets of square plates. The plates are magnetically held parallel and true within friction slider blocks, allowing fast removal and plate size changes without loose parts to loosen, remove, or misplace.
Plate spacing is adjustable from 1 mm to 120 mm, providing an approximate capacitance range from about 300 pF down to 2 pF. The circuit is protected against accidental plate contact. Each plate connects via 4 mm sockets, and sturdy feet provide excellent bench stability during setup and measurement.
