Description
The Atomic Orbital Molecular Model Set, 14 Model Kit, also known as an atomic orbital model kit, is designed for teaching atomic orbitals, hybridisation and basic molecular structure concepts. This set contains enough individual parts to build 14 distinct models, supporting visual classroom demonstrations of unhybridised and hybridised orbitals. The kit includes 1s unhybridised, 2s unhybridised, 3 × 2p unhybridised and 5 × 3d unhybridised orbital models. It also includes a model showing 2s plus three 2p orbitals unhybridised, helping students visualise orbital arrangement before hybridisation.
The hybridised orbital models include sp, sp² and sp³, supporting lessons on molecular geometry, bonding direction and orbital mixing. Pink and purple pear-shaped lobes represent the two wave phases, positive and negative, of the p and d atomic orbitals, while the white sphere represents the atomic nucleus. Each model comes with its own transparent base for display, making the set useful for classroom demonstrations, bench displays and student explanation activities. This product is suitable for school science laboratories, university teaching laboratories and chemistry classrooms studying atomic structure, orbitals, hybridisation and bonding theory.
Users should confirm the required syllabus level, model type and teaching application before use. This product is intended for laboratory or educational settings only and should be used under appropriate supervision. Small parts may present choking hazards. Keep away from young children unless used under direct supervision, and store all components securely after use. This item is supplied as the atomic orbital molecular model set only. Textbooks, worksheets, storage trays, molecular bonding kits and additional chemistry accessories are not included unless specified separately.
LabChoice Australia supplies Molecular Model Sets and chemistry teaching resources for school science laboratories, university teaching laboratories and educational facilities requiring practical visual tools for atomic and molecular structure learning.
