Description
The Dual Mode Regulated and Switched Power Supply, also known as a combined switched AC/DC and regulated DC laboratory power supply, is designed for education laboratories requiring both general purpose low-voltage outputs and smooth regulated DC for electronics work. This IEC Dual Mode power supply combines two output sections in one unit. The switched section provides AC and DC outputs, while the regulated section provides smooth adjustable DC output for experiments where a more stable supply is required. The switched section provides AC and DC at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 V, with output current listed as 8 A. This makes it suitable for general physics experiments, lamps, motors, electromagnets, resistance investigations and other compatible low-voltage classroom loads.
The regulated section provides smooth DC output from 1.3 to 20 V DC. The regulated output is listed as 5 A, reducing to 2 A at lower voltages, supporting a range of compatible electronic studies and low-voltage DC experiments. The regulated output is useful where a smooth and stable DC supply is necessary, such as electronic circuit demonstrations, component testing and experiments where unfiltered rectified DC may not be suitable. A digital meter is provided on the regulated section. The meter can be switched to monitor either output voltage or output current, supporting clearer setup and observation during laboratory use.
Automatic overload protection is included for both operating modes, helping protect the unit during overload conditions when used within approved classroom procedures. This power supply is suitable for school physics laboratories, electronics teaching spaces, university teaching laboratories and general science environments requiring a versatile combination of switched AC/DC and regulated DC output. Users should confirm the selected operating mode, voltage setting, current requirement, lead compatibility and load suitability before use. Connected circuits must remain within the rated capability of the selected output section.
