Description
Oersted’s law apparatus with needle and stand is a classroom demonstrator for the magnetic effect of an electric current in a straight conductor. A permanent magnetic needle rotates freely inside an aluminium frame on a sensitive agate bearing. When current is passed through a wire positioned above or below the needle, and the direction is reversed, the needle deflection shows how magnetic field direction depends on current direction.The unit is fitted with a sturdy base and binding posts for circuit connection.
