This new version uses two separate digital meters, allowing students and instructors to view both important readings at the same time. One meter displays the current through the photo tube, while the second meter displays the backing voltage required to bring the current exactly to zero.

The current meter displays photo tube current in 0.1 nanoamp resolution. This supports practical observation of small photocurrents during experiments involving light intensity, filter selection and photoelectric response. The voltage meter displays the backing volts used to stop the photoelectric current. This is the key measurement used during photoelectric effect experiments where stopping potential is compared under different light conditions.

Because both current and backing voltage readings are visible without switching, experiments can be faster, clearer and less confusing for students.
